Goose on the Loose
Original puppet show musical performance written, produced, and performed by ArtJoy’s founders Toni Mikulka-Chang and Joey Chang, CelloJoe
Goose on the Loose is a tender, imaginative, and music-filled puppet show featuring original songs and score by CelloJoe and Toni Tone, performed with a magical cast of handmade puppets by Toni Mikulka, Folkmanis puppets, and stunning hand-dyed silk creations.
The story begins when a curious young goose spots shimmering, magical silk rainbows and can’t resist chasing after them. Swept up in wonder, Goose wanders farther and farther—until suddenly realizing they are lost and alone. Frightened and unsure, Goose is eventually found by their loving grandma, who gently brings them home to rest. As she tucks Goose in, Grandma explains why it’s important to get good sleep, to stay with a buddy, and to always tell a parent or trusted adult where you’re going instead of running off chasing rainbows. Goose agrees… and, though a little reluctantly, finally drifts off to sleep after Grandma tells them about dreams and what dreams can be.
That’s when the adventure really begins.
Goose enters a wild, colorful dream world filled with incredible characters: a friendly (but very big) T-rex, mysterious deep-sea creatures, a singing Dream Dragon, and a brave and kind Flamingo friend. Together, they help Goose face fears, build confidence, and discover courage in the middle of the unknown.
When Goose wakes up, they excitedly tell Grandma all about the amazing dream, and the two head off to play together on the farm—wiser, braver, and a little more grounded than before.
Told through expressive puppetry, flowing silks, and beautiful live music, Goose on the Loose is a gentle and empowering story about curiosity, safety, rest, imagination, and growing confidence.
