With ArtJoy Founder Toni Mikulka-Chang and workshop facilitator Marya Stark
Step into a two-day immersive ritual art experience where sculpture, story, and embodiment meet.
This hands-on workshop invites participants to design and build their own ceremonial papier-mâché mask—a powerful, wearable art piece representing a personal symbol, spirit ally, archetype, or aspect of the natural world you wish to embody.
Timed with the energy of the Spring Equinox, this workshop centers on renewal, emergence, and transformation. Together we will explore mask-making not just as a craft, but as a ritual process—a way to give form to inner imagery, animistic forces, and personal myth.
This is not a casual craft class. It is a guided creative and ceremonial journey that blends:
Ritual and symbolic storytelling
Professional papier-mâché techniques
Sustainable, accessible sculptural methods
Embodiment, movement, and performance
Participants will leave with a finished, wearable mask and the skills to continue exploring mask and puppet arts in their own creative or ritual practice.
